Volkmann Trains Manufacturers on Vacuum Tech
HAINESPORT, N.J.— Volkmann Inc . taught a training course on the technical aspects of its vacuum conveying systems to 11 of its manufacturers at the company headquarters and manufacturing base in Soest, Germany. Nick Hayes, president of Volkmann Inc. said the training will allow its manufacturers to guide clients in the selection of the correct equipment, to support clients through order to installation and to help during the after-sales support stage.
Company representatives learned advanced conveying techniques, testing procedures, hands on assembly, fault finding and presentations on ATEX certification for explosion proof applications. Additional objectives of the training were to make each representative familiar with the operations of Volkmann and to meet the staff at headquarters, to see the manufacturing systems and the CNC-based manufacturing capabilities. Representatives were also able to visit ATEX Fire and Explosion Ltd’s test laboratories and to see how minimum ignition energy levels are established as see demonstrations of powder explosions using starch and flour dusts clouds.
Hayes said Volkmann plans to grow its operations, and hired Bill Fucich, P.E ., earlier this year to aid such plans.

A total of 11 representatives covering 16 states, Canada and Puerto Rico, made the trip which covered advanced conveying techniques, testing procedures, hands on assembly, fault finding and presentations on ATEX certification for explosion proof applications.
