When Kelli-Dawn met Ryan in sixth form at Ardenne High School, the two became fast friends, but they had no idea what God had planned for their lives. Things gradually started to change as their feelings for each other blossomed, and on deciding they could no longer feign indifference to their emotions, they eventually started dating at the University of the West Indies. Their friendship grew even stronger over the years, and seven years passed in the blink of an eye. Then last year, on November 14, Ryan whisked Kelli-Dawn away to the Coyaba Gardens Mahoe Waterfalls overlooking Ocho Rios for a sightseeing tour. It was there that he proposed, and she, of course, said: "Yes!"

Two Becoming One...

After much anticipation, their special day arrived, and a large gathering of family and friends assembled on Airy Castle Drive in Stony Hill to witness their vows. The groom's mother, Marcia Hamilton of Transformations Interior Designs and Wedding Décor, beautifully decorated the picturesque venue, and the wedding ceremony was officiated by Reverend Dr Ralph Hoyte. A cool Saturday afternoon zephyr passed over the audience, and a stunning Kelli-Dawn made her way up the aisle to meet her groom as Johan Pachelbel's Canon in D filled the air. She was resplendent in a draped strapless gown from Petals and Promises, ornamented with impeccable make-up by Camille Stephenson, and her hair swept into a romantic up-do by Vonessa's. Ryan's eyes misted over the instant he saw her, and he later told Vows that this moment was "the most special" for him. Not to be outdone was the dashing groom, who styled alongside his groomsmen in suits by Beautiful Brides and Mr Tux, while

David's Bridal outfitted the bridesmaids in scarlet dresses.

The wedding was a happy one, and after the two exchanged their vows, they performed a unity sand ceremony to seal their love, ahead of the signing of the register. Meanwhile a poetic serenade that the couple performed for each other with the assistance of Rosemary Murray was played, after which an obviously ecstatic Mr and Mrs Ryan Hamilton made their way to the reception.

Wedded Bliss…

There was much revelry as the two celebrated their union, enjoying copious glasses of champagne and choice fare by Karl Hart of Pantry Caterers.

Couples Negril or Couples Swept Away | Caribbean Islands Forum ...

My husband and I tried to stay at both Swept Away (1st choice) and Couples Negril in March. Both were booked solid so we went to Iberostar Grand Rose Hall in Montego Bay instead. We loved it! The beach isn't as nice as Seven Mile Beach in Negril but it was nice enough and the resort, service and food made up for the less nice beach. We stayed in an ocean front room that was very nice and truly was ocean front. We had a large covered terrace with a ceiling fan and I spent a lot of time out there just enjoying the view. The location also worked well for us as it's only about 20 minutes from the airport and 20 minutes from a great zip-lining adventure we went on. We also did the snorkel trip and even though it's supposed to be a protected reef and a national underwater park we didn't find the snorkeling to be very good. But the snorkeling trip was still really fun and we would do it again even though the snorkeling wasn't great.

AIs have their place and can be a very relaxing place to stay since you don't worry about where to eat esp for islands where there isn't much around. Negril though has so many options outside the hotel it seems a waste to be confined to the hotel. We also tried to stay in an AI past March in Negril but they were all full so we ended up in a modest hotel further down the beach and ate out. Now we have been there we can see that was the better option for Negril. IMO there is no point in AI in this location. The beach at Swept Away is not as nice or private as further down the beach either.
