'American Idol' draws would-be stars to Portland
The Coca-Cola girls are holding red, long-stemmed roses. The Care Bear is standing by, awaiting further instructions. And Christopher Fowler is shaking his thick, curly hair with head-banging abandon while he, and the crowd around him, whoop, holler and raise their arms toward the blue Saturday morning Portland sky.Ryan Seacrest walks through the throng, which parts before him, toward a camera positioned above Seacrest's neatly groomed head. "THIS is Portland," Seacrest says, punching key syllables and timing his pauses just so. "And THIS is AMERIcan Idol."
On cue, another wave of cheering erupts from the 7,000 people waiting outside the Rose Garden for a chance to sing their way to stardom or least some TV time. This summer, "American Idol" is holding auditions for its 11th season, but this is the first time the pop culture powerhouse has come to Portland.
Hopefuls from all over the area showed up in droves: teenage girls in sparkly shoes; sexy ladies in low-cut dresses; fans of Christian music; guys with eccentric haircuts; the tattooed and the pierced; rocker dudes; and tank-top-and-jeans-wearers of all shapes and sizes. Some showed up Friday and camped out overnight. Others arrived at 5 a.m. Saturday to wait more than three hours before going inside the arena for auditions.
Katie Froehlich and Aspen Weller, both 15, came from Sandy. The friends are wearing red T-shirts with the Coca-Cola logo, and denim shorts. Since Coca-Cola has a longstanding partnership with "American Idol," it's not too surprising that Froehlich and Weller are instructed by "Idol" crew members to stand near the front of the group, close to the camera.
"Idol" supervising producer Patrick Lynn stands on a ladder above the crowd outside the arena, like Evita Peron addressing the multitudes from her balcony. Lynn tells everyone to move closer together. "It needs to look full," Lynn says, talking through a bullhorn to amplify his voice. "I don't want it to look empty."
Seacrest, the host of "Idol," is on hand to film segments that will be included in the Portland auditions episode when it's broadcast on Fox. Trim in blue jeans, and an untucked green shirt with rolled-up sleeves, Seacrest is relaxed and polished, expertly schmoozing with fans and the media.
Production staffers assemble handpicked members of the youthful crowd -- contestants must be ages 15-28 -- to stand near Seacrest as he delivers his lines.

They give a perfect blueprint for how to write worship music. Following Jesus involves joy, victory and celebration, but also sacrifice, loss and hurt. We need songs that help us articulate all these and to lead us into God's presence without pretence.

Their music is described as a blend of fun and energetic rhythm carrying the perfect dose of pop, rock, R&B, hip hop, and worship while maintaining a strong lyrical depth. The band members, Tauren Wells (lead vocals,) Blake Hubbard (bass guitar,)
Laura Story Blessings Sheet Music
The Christian artist is simply an incredible songwriter, singer and worship leader. Her song Indescribable became a hit worldwide when Chris Tomlin (a famous worship Artist) used it on his 2004 Arriving album. This meant Story would become known all over the world immediately. And thats exactly what happened.
The Artist was born in 1978 and comes from a smaller town of Spartanburg in South Carolina. She became musically active when she met Shane Williams at Columbia International University (former Columbia Bible College). She joined Shanes band Silers Bald as a bass player but after four independent albums she left the band to persue solo career. That turned out to be a wise move since she had more freedom in creating Christian music and develop more songs. In 2002 she released Indescribable which as already mentioned was used by Chris Tomlin and later on also by the Avalon, another known Christian Band. In 2005 artist released her second album titled There is Nothing and married Martin Elvington. Soon she signes a deal with INO Records and two years later she releases Great God Who Saves album. This is her third album. By this time she and her husband live in Atlanta, Georgia where she works as a worship leader and womens pastor for Parimeter Church. In May 2011 she releases her biggest hit, a song called Blessings. The song reaches #2 on the Billboard Christian Albums chart.
Cronology of Recorded Albums:
In 2002 Indescribable is released. Three years later There is Nothing hits the charts. In 2008 Great God Who Saves is recorded and in 2011 Blessings hits the top chart positions.
About Blessings
It is known that soon after Story married Martin he was diagnosed with a brain tumor and this surely was a hard time for the couple. Not only physically but also spiritually because every person questiones himself about the purpose of such a disease. Story and her husband overcame the struggles and another song was born.
The song is a ballad and easy to listen. It is #5 on the album. Starts with a cool piano intro and Story joines with singing. The song kind of opens in the chorus. It is most likely one of the best worship songs I have ever heard and just can not stop playing it. The Blessings Sheet Music of the song is an easy to learn the song on piano.
